How to replace sisal on scratching post?

My cat got a donated cat ‘tree’, and after a year of use, the sisal has begun to unravel. Anyone know of a pet-friendly ”glue” or other ideas on how to replace the sisal for then she can continue to use & enjoy her scratching post?

Could you use a small nail to tack the sisal back in place?
Bear in mind that when cats scratch, they are also scent marking with their claws. The current scratching post will have her scent which is one of the reasons that she enjoys using it.
If you decide to buy a new post don’t throw out the old one until she has begun using the new one regularly.
In some ways, it depends on the cat tree. If it was gotten from Foster Smith, or comparable to it, they sell replacement posts. I have provided a link. Try and see if your cat tree can be disassembled to know if you can simply replace the post.
Otherwise, you can get un-oiled sisal at home improvement stores. You would probably want either a tack or a staple to secure it to the post.
If the sisal has simply unraveled, renail it or tack it to secure it to where it originally was. I wouldn’t try glue as it likely would not be strong enough. There is actually little surface area on the sisal to adhere strong enough for the cat to not pull it away from the post.
You can get the sisal and any home improvement center and a glue gun. Hot glue should hold it long enough.
It really depends on the type of "tree".
On most trees, the sisal is wrapped around in a spiral pattern. You can purchase sisal at home improvement stores. Nail the new sisal at the bottom of the tree using one nail as the "starting point", then wrap it tightly around the tree until you get to the top and secure with another nail.
There’s no need to glue, nail, staple, or otherwise "attach" the sisal to the tree between the starting and end point. Winding it tightly will do the trick and the two single nails will hold the ends in place securely.
