How to repair scratched door frames?
The door frames in my condo have cat scratches all the way up to the top as a kitty I used to have CLIMBED all the way up them to perch on the tops of our doors. The frames are the old faux wood finish kind. Any idea on how to ‘restor’ the faux wood finish? I cannot afford to buy all new door frames and really need to get this repaired. It doesn’t have to be a solution that gets the frames EXACTLY like new, but rather, even something to camoflage the scratches so they at least blend in with the darker faux finish? (currently, the scratches show the "unfinished" wood underneath.) Oh, we are talking about a LOT of scratches so doing something like a "wood finish pen" probably won’t work too well. Am thinking maybe to buff away all the loose little pieces of wood and then put wood finish on a rag and rub it in to the scratched areas? Don’t know if that would work at all? Any other suggestions would be great!

Veneer faux wood? Your best bet would be to sand down the veneer where the cat has scratched to even it all out, then seal the wood with either a clear coat, or prime and re-paint.
If it’s the actual frame – is there a reason you didn’t finish installing? Or are you just talking about the jamb?
