Cats are supose to be indoor pets only. It is unsafe to let them out. She climbed up a tree right. That should she is fightened of the out doors any ways.
Keep the cat in the house.
You could put chicken wire or build small fences around the trunks of all of your trees until she grows up enough to have enough strenght to get down.
Or just watch her closely when shes outside and stop the problem before it becomes one
Keep her inside and get her a cat tree to climb on. Cats must be able to climb. It’s their nature. There’s no way to keep her from it.
aww. just keep her inside! i don’t think cats should be out side anyways. they are too domestic. plus they get prego, they could get ran over, catch all kinds of diseases and what not. i think indoor cats live longer too. cats should be spoiled and pampered!
De-claw, and keep inside. I know they say that de-clawing is mean, but my brothers cat is de-clawed and is still the neighborhood bully.
cover or wrap the tree trunk with something the cat cant sink their claws into, ex. rolled aluminum, until the cat is old enough to have declawed! good luck!
keep the cat on a leash at all times. And if it even remotely looks at the tree give it the evil eye and threaten an eternity of tuna-less meals
Just keep inside and once in a while let her out but be out there with her to make sure she doesn’t go anywhere.
Look my dear i don’t think there a way to control your if not transform it to a dog.
It’s a cat. So it’s just doing what it does the best climbing OK.
I mean…
The fact that it’s at home is a good thing already. what it does outside it’s not a big deal
It really is a good idea to keep your cat inside.
And please don’t declaw your cat. Just in case you don’t know, they just don’t "pull out the toenail", but rather completely cut off the first joint of the toe. They cut off part of the toe. It’s very painful surgery and can make a biter out of your cat.
Also, declawed cats should never be let outdoors as they are pretty much rendered defenseless against dogs, as they can’t climb trees or strike them with their claws.
keep kitty inside, they thrive much better.
Keep him inside. I do not know how people can let their cats run around outside.
Some people say de-clawing is best to prevent this, but if you let your cat outside unsupervised, you have effectively removed their best defense against other animals….your cat might as well be a naked soldier in Iraq with no ammunition. If de-clawing is your only option, you must never let the cat outside and unsupervised….EVER.
However, adding a circle of chicken-wire around trees is a good option. Kittens aren’t that great at jumping, so get some chicken-wire at least 3-feet high, and wrap in a wide circle around each tree, so that there’s a space of at least 2-feet from the wire to the trunk. If the kitten can jump higher than 3-feet, then use higher wire accordingly. Use tent stakes to secure the wire in the ground, and plastic zip-ties to hold the ends of the wire fence together.
Another option is to use an anti-marking spray. Cats love trees, usually to climb up and chase a bird, or to retreat from an "animal bully," but sometimes just to sharpen their claws against the trunk. However, they may decide to climb up after sharpening. You can use an anti-marking spray to not only keep your furniture safe from urine and scratch-marks, but the trees as well. A commercial product called "Feliway" mimics a cat’s facial/cheek pheromones, which they rub on people or objects they feel comfortable with. Using this spray on the tree’s trunk will effectively calm the cat/kitten, preventing aggressive behavior.
And no, I don’t work for "Feliway." I just have a bunch of cats.
Cats shouldnt be outdoors, without supervision and a leash. Too many dangerous things (cars, antifreeze, animal abusers, etc) If you must, dont not let your cat climb the tree, because its a safety thing. What if a dog is chasing them, it needs to be an option. Another reason they should be inside. Cats are not dumb, they can climb down, sometimes they make take longer, but they will.
It’s a kitten – and you let it outside?
Here’s an idea. Keep it inside – no trees in there! And please read this – http://www.littlebigcat.com/index.php?action=library&act=show&item=indoorsoroutdoors
Young cats sometimes haven’t learned the trick of coming down backwards, and a fall could be very dangerous to a kitten.
Stores that cater for bird lovers usually have a good variety of products designed to stop cats from climbing. Create a barrier by nailing an inverted fan shape of chicken wire round the tree about 2m (6ft) from the ground. It will still be able to climb part of the tree. Baffles or spiked collars can be placed around trees to stop cats climbing them. See the link below for more info.

Buy your kitten an indoor cat tree to climb as this will also be a good way to teach him good claw manners so that he doesn’t scratch in places you don’t want him to.
I am having the same problem, Saran Wrap has helped in most places. You should watch her while she is out, so she does not get her claws stuck in the saran wrap though. However I have one cat who is declawed they still climb, they just bear hug the trees. Do not declaw, mine was declawed when i got her.
