It’s so funny that cats tend to like the silliest things…I have bought my cat hundreds of dollars worth of toys and he only plays with one of them…He’d much rather have the following household items:
Plastic drinking straw
Plastic ring from bottles
Plastic lid from bottles
Paper bag from grocery store (even though he has racket sacks)
Soda boxes (the ones that 12-pack of Pepsi comes in, just open one end to make it a tunnel)
Balls of paper on the kitchen floor
My school work as it prints (he tries to climb into the printer, so if I ever told my teachers that my cat ate my homework I woudn’t be lieing)
Any kind of shiny dangly jewelry (especially necklaces)
My cats love to chase the red spot of a laser light…you can buy them for a few dollars in gas stations or in some pet stores. Just don’t shine it in their eyes! You can find some inexpensive feather toys, catnip-filled toys, etc. or save your old shoe boxes, paper bags and cardboard boxes. Cats love anything they can lay on or crawl into.
twist ties, have em chase a flash light beam, bubbles with cat nip in it, string, the little milk cap twist thing (when you open a plastic milk container that little plastic tab) there are alot of ways to enterain a cat just be creative
Grocery sacks and boxes are always popular. Really any container, like a suitcase or a big kitchen pot. They love to do hide-and-seek.
give the cat a ball and watch her play….
One of my cats LOVES those little orange plastic containers that the kinder surprise toys come in.
We probably have about 50 lying around the house.
All of my cats also love knots.
They’re those pieces of fabric tied into a knot with cat nip inside.
We wrapped a wire around the top of a chair (wires give a springy effect), then to the end of the wire, we tied a string — and then to the end of the string we tied one of those fake mice you get for super cheap at the store.
He totally loves it.
