spray the tree with cat nip….the cat will go wild with desire for the tree!
Give him big pieces of cardboard. Seriously this works. Promise!
How could you do that!
Attach some carpeting to the tree. and spray it with catnip spray.
You can also attack some carpeting to the back of your doors inside … so the cat will scratch there, too.
Keep your kitties’ claws trimmed, too.
Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
just declaw it and get it over with…its cheaper than new furniture
I don’t know how to get him to scratch the tree, but you can take a spray bottle and leave it within arms reach and everytime he goes to scratch what you don’t want him to, give him a quick squirt. He’ll learn.
Rub some cat nip on the tree.
Try some catnip….you can get it in a spray.
Get a dog
hey..i live on that tree! we don’t need cats scratching the bark and hurting the health of the tree….but seriously..cats do what they want..my cat has a post as well..and uses other things instead
I found a website that might help you out with your problem. Good luck!
cats do whatever they want. what helped my kitten was a $4.00 scratch pad with catnip in it that i bought at target. my kitten loves it. i think its the catnip. i just throw her on it when she scratches something. but she still mostly scratches everything else and my older cat doesn’t even like the scratcher. good luck.
I really dont think you can make a cat scratch the tree, They sell really small cat scratchers and i would get one of them and where the cat is scratching i would put a little pepper there and the cat wont go by it anymore
