How much do male calico cats cost?
My female calico cat just had a litter of kittens. I think one of them is a male. Do female calicos only have calicos?

There are male calico kitties, as well as male tortoiseshell kitties. But, they are really mutations (XXY), so they are sterile. Since they are sterile, their value is really no greater than any run of the mill kitty. So while they are relatively rare, that does not give them any special value.
The female cat determines fertilization, so a litter of six kittens could have six different fathers. For a calico to be born, there has to be a red tom in the background.
And in a litter of newborn kittens, unless you are real good at it, determining the sex can be misleading.
No more than female Calico cats. It is true that the percentage of calico cats that are female is much higher than male, so it may seem like all calico’s are female, but that is not the case. It is also said that male Calico’s are sterile. That is not the case also. See link provided below.

It is also believed that yellow/orange cats are always male. Not so, just as with Calico’s.
Chances are the calico kitten is a female. It can be very difficult to correctly sex kittens, and the younger they are the harder it is! True male calicoes can sometimes be sold for big $, but be careful of who you sell him to. Male calicoes are very rare, and unfortunately it could be someone more interested in finding out why this boy is calico than in having a loving pet. But please give it a few weeks before you let your hopes get too high, as it will most likely become obvious in 4-5 weeks that HE was really a SHE the whole time!! Good luck with all your kittens! I hope they are healthy, beautiful, and find loving forever homes!
I believe only female cats can be calicos. Males only have two colors. A female (calico has three colors. If there is ssuch thing as a male calico, he would probably be very costly!
I find it funny that there’s only female calicos and not male calicos, because calicos are beautiful , but for birds the males are always beautiful… kinda funny.
Sorry i don’t have a price for you
Male calico’s are rare but they are not a breed. The have no more value then any other domestic cat that is not a pure or full breed. Females calico’s do not only have calico’s. I fostered a calico mom this past summer she had two orange two tabby and a calico. I have not seen a calico with a full litter of calico’s before. Good luck with your new kittens but please be sure to get the mom fix soon to keep from contributing the the cat over population.
Odds are, that the calico is a female, but not always. Also, in the rare case the kitten is a male, it’s most likely he’s sterile as he has the wrong match of genes .. He could also be an hermaphrodite.
Also, If I read your question wrong, and you are thinking that calico is a breed, then you are mistaking as it is a coat pattern… White, black and orange.
I’d say 10 million dollars! Why? Because calicos are only female. If you have a male calico then you either have a one of a kind or you have a cat with both genders.
Calico’s are never male – it’s a genetic thing. The male version is called a ‘tortie’ for tortoise. They have kind of a browny/orangey almost brindle coat and may also have white or black mixed in.
People don’t usually buy a calico – it’s a coloring not a breed.
Just make sure the kittens get placed in good homes.
To the best of my knowledge only female cats can be calicos. Males are limited to two colors and a calico has at least three colors.
Any cat having three or more colors is female, as far as I know. If you had a male calico cat I would think it would be extremely rare and would probably command a rather high price if there were any kind of pedigree on it.

What they produce will depend on what is in their background. Basically whatever recessive genes are hidden can pop up.
