how how i break my cat from climbing and ruining my furniture?

i probably should have explained it better in my first post. my kitten doesn’t just jump up on counters and the couch the claws and scratches her way up… but maybe im just suppose to let her destroy and run my house.

First of all, please don’t get your cats de-clawed like others have suggested! They actually amputate the last digit off their little paws. Its very painful and unnecessary procedure. You can trim your cats nails, granted they allow you to. I trim my cats nails every week or two. Another thing i do to protect the furniture is put clear packing tape on the corners of the couch and armchairs to keep them from clawing at it. Something about the texture makes it less appealing. I also have a scratching post that I spray with liquid cat nip. That gets the urge to scratch out on something a little less expensive to replace! lol. Although you might have to trim their nails more often. I hope that helps!
Oh ya I also clap while saying "eevie NO" (Eevie is my cat) It lets them know you’re talking to them specifically and that the action they’re doing is not ok. The clapping gets their attention fast and it startles them to deter the action. Cats have attitudes, thats why I love them so much, but you are the boss not them. You have to make that clear 
I would try buying those play house things with scratching posts attached. Walmart has some for $30 or less!! I checked it out online….though some are only sold in stores. This may help with the urge to climb and scratch!!
I am getting 2 kittens tomorrow and I will be buying a few different ones over the next couple of months.

Have the cat declawed if personal possessions are more important to you than the cats well being. Personally; I don’t care what you do. And you shouldn’t care what I think.
And there’s no need to explain anything. Once you’ve seen one troll you’ve seen them all.
Just scold her or spray her with water.Cats learn with this very fast.
If she’s a kitten, she claws and scratches her way up because she is probably going through her "wild phase". This doesn’t last very long. A few weeks or three months at the most.
If this is not a kitten, but a young cat, I have to ask, does the cat seem unable to jump? If so, it might be time for a vet visit. If the cat otherwise seems fine and you know for certain that the cat can jump, it might just be that clawing is the cat’s preferred method for getting up on the couch. Or it might be that the cat goes to "sharpen" it’s claws and ends up deciding to climb up.
Here are some steps you can take to break the cat of things like this.
1. Make sure the cat has a scratching post, that will not fall over.
2. Keep a squirt bottle nearby and give the cat a squirt if it claws the couch.
3. Get a cat tree.
4. Buy the stuff at the pet store that keeps cats away from certain things.
5. Put foil where the cat usually climbs. I’ve also heard they don’t like the scent or orange peels.
When handled properly, this is usually a temporary problem. Kittens calm down, and when provided with alternatives and disuasions, older cats usually decide using opt for the alternative. We got out cat a new scratching post and he loves it so much he hasn’t touched the couch. It’s a horizonal one and he even lays on it. It’s become his little throne.
it`s hard. maybe u can buy one of those special things that are made for them to scratch,or u can take him to the vet to cut the nails.
Being so small, cats and kittens make use of vertical space by climbing. They like being up high because it gives them a better view of everything and instinct tells them it keeps them safe from ambush attack.
Your kitten is too small to make the leap up to furniture, which is why she’s clawing her way to the top. If you buy her a cat tree or a scratcher with several levels, and encourage her to use it, she will leave your furniture alone. Spend time playing with her on the cat tree and reward her with food treats as encouragement.
