How fast do feral cats and dogs multiply?
Please help!! I am doing a report on the out of control stray animal population and I can’t find any accurate information on how fast these strays multiply. I know its like thousands by the year but I would like a good source. Any good sites that have stats on stray numbers and spay and nuetering would be great!
San Antonio numbers and info would be great! I don’t know why I am not having any luck finding this stuff. Thanks!

Oh man. Working at the Humane Society, you find out exactly how much it is. Feral cats multiply much faster than dogs. 2 feral cats can make up to 25 more cats in ONE year alone. So if you think of the number of cats in your neighborhood, just imagine that multiplied by 25. It is an awful problem. I’d look at the Humane Society of the United States for more figures. We are probably the largest advocates for spaying and neutering pets, so there are figures up there for people to see. Good luck! ;]
a female cat, once in heat, becomes a queen. it only takes 1 time to become pregnant. after weening her litter she immediately goes back into heat, and will stay that way until mated again. but once a queen always a queen, she will mate and mate again and again and have many litters thru her lifespan
