She cannot get sick from licking her self. My friends cat licks himself in his spare time which is very often lol. This is normal, She’ll grow out of it.
This is how they give theirselves a bath. You can buy some stuff for the hairball problem.
well she wont stop cleaning- its pretty much ingrained in a cats’ DNA. but they do have hairball control food you could try that.
if it’s a longhair cat, then definitely get a grooming brush and groom her everyday, to help her shed all that dead hair. Also contact your vet ASAP and ask for medications.
This is a natural trait cats have. It would be difficult to make her stop.
You can’t stop a cat from licking their fur. This is how they keep clean. You can, however, stop the hairballs. Buy some anti-hairball food or paste or cat treats or whatever (they are at any pet store). The hairballs will stop (or at least become less frequent).
Cats lick themselves to clean – there’s no way you are going to be able to stop your cat from licking as it is instinctual and 100% normal cat behaviour.
To prevent your cat from getting hairballs you should brush her on a regular basis to remove excess hair. A metal slicker brush and a shedding blade are excellent brushes for grooming and removing loose hair.
You can also buy hairball treatments from a pet store or from your vet. They’re usually malt or meat flavoured paste in a tube that you feed to your cat. They help hair pass through your cat’s system so they do not form hairballs which they have to throw up.
cats can’t stop licking themselves
Cats must lick their fur to clean it to, straighten it out, to spread the natural oils. You might check with a pet store to see if there is a contraption against which a cat can rub which will remove excess hair and prevent it getting hairballs.
get hair ball control cat food.
you can’t stop her from licking her fur.
you can buy anti-hairball formula food.
Friskies is good. My grandma’s cat does the same thing and she uses Friskies and it works great for her.
Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all you can do.
This is natural. It would be like telling you to quit taking a shower! Cat’s eat grass to help rid themselves of hairballs it helps them regurgitate them. Let the can outside to eat grass or you can buy little patches of grass seeds that you can grow inside. They sell them at Pet-smart.
Saying a cat can’t lick her fur is like saying a butterfly souldn’t fly….
Cats groom themselves….there is nothing you can do to stop her..but you can help prevent hairballs by brushing daily and making sure she is getting proper nutrients. Cats that have a nutritious diet have better coats that dont shed as much…
I would recommend an all natural cat food…like EVO…or Californias Best.
GET ONE OF THE THINGS TAEY PUT AROUND THER NECK IF TO STOP
Licking themselves is perfectly natural. Cats lick their coats to clean them. If the licking becomes obbsesive just talk to your vet.
Have you tried brushing her?? This will reduce the amount of hair that she licks and tries to swallow. They do have available, cat food with hair ball " reduction" . I, once had a Persian that had this problem, not matter how much I brushed her. I got a hair ball remedy from the Vet’s office. It’s a thick ointment that you place on the roof of the mouth. But, don’t overdo in using it, because it can then cause diarrhea. At least, that is what happened to my cat.
Most cats are obsessive compulsive with their cleaning. If they aren’t that’s normally a good sign that they may not be feeling well. Cats and hairballs unfortunately go together like dogs and fire hydrants. The best thing you can do is brush your kitty and keep them well groomed and they’ll mostly likely dig that. There are a number of other things you can try too as far as types of hairball foods, treats and even the stuff in the tube made specifically for your type of problem.
The fiber in their diet will help them get rid of the hair they clean off out the other end. If they don’t…then you can wind up with a mass of it in their tummy and it requires surgery to get it removed.
A good brushing and some of the laxitone stuff that you can buy at just about any pet store should keep you and kitty happy and hopefully hair ball free. =^. .^=
You aren’t going to stop a cat from licking itself no matter how hard you try. Best thing to do is talk to your vet about hairball remedies.
if she starts getting bald spots, consult your vet. my friend’s cat licks itself bald in spots and its a problem that it has, so it has to take medication.
or she might have excessive hair loss? just a guess.
otherwise shes just shedding a lot right now..so dont worry about it.
either way you should brush her at least twice a week
You wont get a cat to stop licking herself. Brush your cat 2wice a day and give it a hairball remedy that they sell in pet stores, thats the best you can do.
Cats are known to groom themselves yes and it is a good Idea to get a good comb or brush to do this they love it. I am not sure if there are any hairball remidies out there but check your local pet store or vets office . they could tell you
Your cat needs to lick herself to stay clean and healthy so don’t spray her with anything. You can reduce hairballs by combing her regularilly and by giving her special hairball controlling food, which you can find in your pet store. Throwing up hairballs doesn’t mean she’s sick though, so don’t worry if she does it occasionally.
Grooming is normal, you can brush her fur and give her treats or food to help control hairballs (my cat who has hairballs hates the stuff, but try it). Also, has any thing changed in her environment? Cats will groom more obsessively if they are nervous. New animals, new furniture, people, rearranged rooms, etc. all can cause your kitty to be nervous and groom more often. If you think you may have a nervous kitty, reassure and comfort her and hopefully this will be a short lived problem!
you cant make a cat stop licking them self if you have problems with hair balls get some hairball formula it comes in lots of forms liquid cat food the same thing happens with my cat do you also have a problem with flea but don’t want to bathe you’re cats there is something called capstar you might be able to get it from your vet i
normal behavior relax
cats licking themselves is perfectally normal. i would be worried if she stopped. cats hate water so it’s a way or cleaning/gromming themselves.
try brushing her with a kitty comb that reduces the hair intake for the kitty also try hairball remedy foods and treats.
That’s their way of cleaning and it’s good, what you can do is change the diet to a hairball formula.
They make food and treats that have ahirball formula in them. I would try those and see if it helps.
