How do i stop my cat from scratching the wall?
My cat likes to stretch and while she does that she digs her nails into whatever she’s bracing herself on. She has gone from the kitchen table corners to the wall! My door frame is literally being shredded by her! The wood is exposed and torn apart. How do I stop this? I put double stick tape up and that doesn’t stop her. She has a scratch post she uses also. Please help! thank you!

Cats need to stretch up,dig their claws in and scratch to keep their leg, shoulder and back muscles healthy. It may be that you need a taller stronger scratching post for her. When she goes to scratch anywhere else, like the door frame, gently and without speaking lift her to her scratching post. When she uses it, praise her, using her name a lot. With time and patience she will learn that being a good girl earns your approval.
It’s pointless and cruel punishing cats, such as squirting water at her when she does it,as she will only become nervous of you.
Cinnamon Oil. Cats hate the smell of it for some reason. My cat was chewing up my cell phone charger while it was plugged into the wall charging my phone. I put the Cinnamon oil on the chord and he stopped chewing on it. Also, He has tore the corners of my couches up by using them as a scratching post and I put the Cinnamon oil in a spray bottle and sprayed them and now he leaves them alone. I would try the Cinnamon oil.
