How do I stop my cat from climbing into the radiator?
So I just moved into a new apartment, and our cat climbed up under the radiator and got stuck inside. We had to call the superintendent to get him out. We’ve blocked off the opening with boxes and such so he can’t get in, but once the heat comes on this isn’t going to work.
The opening is quite sizeable and is at the bottom of the rad. He’s able to shimmy his way all the way inside and gets tangled in wires.
Does anyone know of an attachment of some sort that I can install on the radiator to prevent him from climbing up? A mesh of some kind maybe?

If you can get to all sides of the radiator, make a .. I_I .. out of some "hardware cloth" ( ask at a home improvement store if you don’t know what this is ), and fasten it front/bottom/back. This should let the air circulate, and keep the cat out.
Hardware cloth ( not really cloth, but heavy mesh ) is VERY strong, and the cat will NOT be able to tear it off, if it’s fastened securely……..and he CAN NOT tear it!
Hope this helps………Good luck.
he goes there because it is warm so buy him a warm basket to sleep in.
