How do I stop my 3 year old litter box trained cat from pooping on the floor?

We recently got a new kitten and moved into a new house. So that explains the why he is doing this. We have 2 cat boxes that are cleaned regularly in my upstairs bathroom with doesn’t get much traffic. My older cat has decided to periodically poop downstairs in the living room in the same place. What can I do to stop this?

Maybe move the litter box downstairs
Discipline him when he poops on the floor and take him and put him in his litter box when he does that. Buy treats or that special food and give to him when he does use his litter box. P.S. if he doesn’t know where his litter box is take him in the litter box a lot so he knows where it is.
After cleaning the boxes, put some sand inside the box go back to natural behaviour for cat.
its probably getting old. change the litter brand and show it where its litter box is again. if it keeps doing it, ask the vet
Maybe tie a poop-bag on the poop-door!
have you tried changing the litter brand?
its probably a territorial issue… cats are very territorial.
