How do I make my cat stop putting things in litter box?
My cat is always putting things in his litter box (ex: his cat bed, blankets, toys, etc.) and it is really grossing me out. Is there anything I can do to make him stop this bad behavior? Thank you!

you could get one of those covered liter boxes. the narrowness of the door should prevent the cat from taking at least the larger objects into the catbox. they also have the added bonus of filtering out some of the stink.
spank him and dont clean his box until he stops
hahahahahahahahahahaha..
hahahahahahahahah.
Aww that’s cute. Just watch him if he is carrying something in there and take it from him and say "no". Then if he goes in without anything praise him and give him a treat.
Just hope he stops his own form of entertainment. Often, toys go into the water dish. I wad paper coffee filters, which my cats love to swat all around the house, and carry it. I usually find it in their water dish in the morning.
It might be a phase. He doesn’t think it is bad.
Actually, if he was a rescue from a shelter, often they will lie in the litter box, as it is the softest place in the cage. So putting toys there would be their way of keeping the toy in a "good" place.
You can start by getting a new litter box with a lot of litter. it is using these things as cat litter. My cats did it and i got a new litter box and started over. They were fine after that.
Maybe you could try giving him an alternative place to stash his things–as another answerer pointed out, perhaps he’s looking for a safe place to hide his stuff. Many pet and general stores have little kitty tents and cubes for them to play and hide in. I have some and my cats love them, and it might provide a less gross alternative for your cat to hide his stuff in.
You can search "cat cubes" on Target’s website to find the exact ones I’m talking about. Good luck!
