How Do I get my cats to pee into the cat box and not on my clothes, pillows, and blankets.?

I scoop the box everyday, but they are not peeing in the box. So how do i make them stop. I have spanked them and told them no. But it is like nothing ever happen. I put them in the bathroom when i am not home because they will pee on the bed and other places. Any help will be great. Thank you

This is gonna sound strange but stop using whatever laundry detergent you’re using. We had the same problem for like a month because of SHOUT, we switched to some generic brand and they stopped instantly. This really is just as weird as it sounds, but you might give it a try.
I had a boy cat that did that once. Neutering helped him. He wasn’t marking his territory, which was my home.
Cats all have different personalities. Some are smart enough to know where to use it, and some don’t. Maybe you should replace the cats.
Don’t ever spank kitty. That will make them fearful of you and they will lose trust in you. When this happens, pick them up by the scruff…then say NO. They will learn. But never by spanking.
Put them in the box a few times, so they get used to the idea that they should go there for business and not on the floors. After a while, they will get used to going into the box and do business there.
Add litter boxes until you have at least one more box than you have cats. Try placing them as close as you can to the places that they choose to urinate. Try different litter in the boxes in case they don’t like what you are using. Placing the food bowls in these places will discourage them from using these places as a toilet. Also, and especially if these measures do not work, take them to your vet to check for urinary tract infections, and other diseases like diabetes. Sometimes anti-anxiety drugs can be used.

When I got my kitten I would leave him in a big pet carrier with his litter box in there. I would take him out and play with him and then put him back and set him in there. After about a week, I noticed he was going in the litter box all on his own. I let him out of the carrier and left the door open and he kept going in it. It worked for me. Are they intact males? They will spray to mark their territory.
How many do you have… how old are they… where did you get them from?
Cats like their own litter boxes.. there could also be behavior problems from their past.
Telling them no and spanking them will never work – you need to find out why they are doing this.
I would also consider energy therapy. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a drug free therapy that works very well on animals and humans.
I have used it on many cats for various issues including urinating in the wrong place. It also works well for calming them during thunderstorms and for jealousy issues with other cats in the family.

if its a boy, get him fixed. cats have the instinct to potty in the sand, so the only thing i can think of is maybe he is marking his territory. and no amount of spanking will make him stop, he needs to be fixed. i think that will solve the problem.
When you are at home keep an eye on your cat and if it looks like it is going to wee pick the cat up and put it in the tray keep doing this and hopfully it should get the idea.
Try using an orange to mask the wee sent it will have made in the area of the house it is used to weeing in cut the orange in half and rub it onto the area. If the cat can still smell the scent of wee it will keep returning to that place to wee.
Getting a cat to use the litter box:
1)For every cat you need one litter box plus one extra.
2)You need one litter box on every floor of your house.
3)Clean each litter box frequently (2x a day)
4)Keep it out of rooms where they may be spooked or startled like the laundry room.
5)Buy different kinds of litters for each box. You’ll soon learn wich kind they prefer and stick to that one specific kind so they keep going in the box.
6)Keep things out of reach that they prefer to pee on. Cats have a certain feeling that they like to pee on and if it’s clothing or blankets you need to keep them off of the floor.
7)You can’t spank them or punish them after they have done it because they don’t remember doing it. They don’t have a great memory span like us.
8)Neutering/spaying your cats may help if they are still intact
9)If all else fails it may be time to take them to the vet and make sure that they don’t have any infections, crystals or stones that may be causing them pain and not want to go in the litter box because they associate the litterbox as painful.
Some cats are very very picky and you’ll need to figure out what works but these are the most important things when it comes to having a cat that doesn’t go in their box. Good luck
I had two cats (a male and a female), and eventually the male cat started peeing on our carpet. I think it has to do with the number of litterboxes. They shared a litterbox, and even though we kept it clean, he would still pee on the floor. Eventually, we had to take him to a pet shelter.
You should really take your cat into the vet. This can be a sign of a urinary tract infection or other illness.
Other than that, if you find out it’s not those things – then someone mentioned picking up the cat by the scruff and reprimanding. That’s a great way to discipline a cat because that’s what mother cats do in the wild. One more thing I would add would be for you to also, while holding onto the scruff of the cat, take it over to the litter box and put it in there (make sure not to reprimand while the cat is in there though – so it doesn’t think that’s a bad place.)
One last thing. You might want to consider putting the litter box in a new place. Sometimes cats are picky and don’t want it where it is. I do know it’s not good to have it near the cats food, but not sure where yours is.

It looks like you’ve got a lot of good ideas on how to make the cats to pee in the littler box. Here’s an idea to get the smell out of your bedding and clothes. Vinegar. Wash all of your peed on items with vinegar and the nasty urine smell should come out. I threw away $1000′s of dollars in clothing before I learned this trick. My cat eventually stopped though it took a long time. Good luck. =)
