You could get a second litter box, or there are self cleaning litter boxes out there as well. These will scoop the pan about 10 minutes after the cat leaves it. The reservoirs on these have to be emptied every day or two, but they work great.
use some storage thing of some type thats long and wide but not tall and fill it with litter thats what my mom does when we leave my cat for a few weeks.
Some cats are just picky about the whole bathroom thing. They make automatic cat litter boxes that automatically clean the litter after there is a mess-but I don’t know if you could find it in Germany, plus they are expensive. I was told once that the number of litter boxes you have should be the number of cats you own plus one, so maybe try getting another litter box. Also, if this is a recent thing she has been doing she maybe trying to tell you that she is sick.
You don’t have to have an actual litter box. A large plastic storage box will do. So will a large dishwashing pan. Anything like that. I use dog litter boxes for my cats but don’t know if they are available in Germany or not. If you use a storage bin and If the sides are high, cut one down a bit.
I don’t blame your cat for not wanting to step in the box where he’s already pooped. Wouldn’t you want your toilet flushed before you use it a 2nd time after having a BM? (and you don’t even have to step in it!) What about adding a 2nd litter box so that he has a choice? You will still need to scoop 1 – 2 times a day but, your cat will appreciate it!
Put her in it . Let her feel the gravel.Instinctively, she should dig if she needs to go.Let her sniff it.
Just get a second litterbox or third perhaps:) Good Luck!
maybe, you could put some treats in it, and then it would go in and poo
if that doesn’t work, then you can get it another box
it should come natural to your cat to use the litter box and if not then you should get rid of your cat. that’s nasty/
Maybe try a different type of cat litter, if there are other brands available. Our kitty is very picky too. He will hold his pee & poo if his box is not clean to his standards – one time even went pee in the bathtub when he couldn’t get to his box (a guest closed the door to where his box is). He likes this litter made from corn, which is better at masking the odor, and it’s lighter than clay litters, and has little dust. He has a large covered litter pan, which I scoop regularly. The other possibility is to train your cat to use the toilet. They sell a kit that helps you train them. They don’t learn to flush -but do go on the regular toilet!
Cats are very particular about their litter box being clean! When we had our cat spayed, the vet said she couldnt use a litter box for two weeks. So I got those puppy training pads and put them where her litter box was. She used them just fine. But yes, I had to change the pad every time she went. It was easier than cleaning out a litter box. Now, she doesnt use a litter box at all. She is like a dog, and scratches at the doorwhen she has to go potty, then scratches to come in when she is done. So weird! But it saves me money!!
Instead of trying to get another litter box or just a bigger one you could just use a spray that they have out there which inables them to do their business in certain places such as the floor, just spray where you don’t want them to do their business then there you go. try using that.
after your cat craps, take the litter out and dump it, then from keeping to spend so much money on litter, put sand in the box, then you can dump the litter and scoop the litter all the time!
