How do I get my cat to start using her litter box again?
I have a 2 year old cat, and we got another dog a few months ago. He was very interested in the cat and would often eat her ‘droppings’. We got him to stop doing that, but she now refuses to use her litterbox, she goes in the same corner in the living room all the time. Putting the litter box there is not an option, is there a way to get her back into the litter box? She’s ruined the carpet there, and my mom wants to get rid of her. Help!?!

Put food bowls down in the corner, even if it’s only to feed her there once or twice a day. Cats will not urinate where they eat.
Clean the area with Nature’s Miracle, a product designed to clean up puppy potty messes.
You can also try putting citrus fruit peels down in that area — most cats absolutely hate citrus smells and will avoid it at all costs.
get a covered litter box and train the dog to stay away from that spot
I would put the litter box there anyways, just until she gets used to using it again. And then slowly move it out of the room to where you want it to be. If she is insisting on using that peticular spot, find out if there is a reason. She might be trying to mark her territory, females can do that too. Is there children in the home that would maybe play in it? If so, cut an old laundry basket, and flip it upside down, so there is only one access to this box, like a door, the kids should leave it alone if they can not get to it.
Ya I agree with getting a covered litter box, she probably smells the dog in that box now and you’ll need to get her a new one and getting the covered one will keep the dog out of it. She feels as if her territory has been invaded, she needs a space of her own and cats especially female cats are very private when it comes to their potty.
Try replacing it with cat nip. Make a trail to the litter box and see if that works for you. Most cats will eat the cat nip and want more.
