How do I get cat litter smell out of the dryer?
I shook out the mat that is in front of my cat’s litter box and then pot it in the dryer with a Bounce sheet to fluff it up. Now my dryer smells like her litter box and anything I put in the dryer smells like cat litter. She didn’t get in there to go potty, I’m sure of that. I don’t use my dryer much but if I need to it’s a problem. How can I get this smell out?

Vinegar will neutralize the ammonia in cat urine. Pour a little in a clean spray bottle and spray the inside of the dryer.
Clean out with detergent or neat alcohol.
perhaps put a bit of eucalyptys oil on a face washer – or some sort of fragrance oil, when your drying things
Detergent or disinfectant might work. Maybe you should put it outside and leave the door open to air it out. You could also try air fresheners.
u can also try lemon just cut in half and wipe around or orange does the trick as well and all natural
Try soaking a small towel with liquid fabric softener and turning it on for a few mins. see if that works…it did for me. Or even a rag with vinegar on it.
Ok, I hope you know now not to do this again, especially if parts of the mat contains RUBBER! Never put rubber based items in a dryer! For one, it can cause a fire, and second, you end up with the smell problem you have. But if it’s not, next time, set it outside to dry or use your hair dryer. The smell will most likey to get out by using baking soda. Disolve a table spoon of baking soda in 8oz water and wipe the inside of your dryer. Don’t keep the door of the dryer shut when you’ve done with this. Air it out for about 15-20 minutes.
A rag soaked in vinegar is pretty good with smell removal when you can’t wipe down all the areas that are holding the smell. Just get the rag soaking and run it through a dryer cycle. That hopefully will clear it all out for you.
