how come my cat wont sleep in his cat bed?

i just got my cat a bed today and wenever i put him in it it just walks away, theres even cat nip in the bed so it will like it! why wont it stay in there?

Ya, i had to return my cat’s bed because he never used it.
You could try to sprinkle cat nip in there. It will make it more pleasing.
You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make it drink…
Cats are contrary animals. If they think you want them do something, they dont want to do that.
I suggest not trying to force your cat. Perhaps if you put the cat bed somewhere good, like up high with a good view you might get a better result. If not, you tried. Its a cat, and there is only so much you can do.
first the catnip is not good for him try getting a bed w/o catnip. good luck!
let the cat discover it for himself and choose when to sleep in there. you can encourage by placing a familiar scented blanket or toy in it. All he probably smells is the store/factory/chemical smell off it and doesn’t know it’s for him. Give it time.
Wear a T-Shirt to bed for a couple of nights, and then put it in the cat bed…. chances are your cat will curl up in the T-Shirt on the bed. Cats like to sleep in places that smell of their primary human…. it’s a comfort-factor thing. If you make the catbed smell like you, your cat will likely want to sleep in it.
