How can I keep my cats' pee from sticking to the bottom of the litter box?

My cats’ pee always sticks to the bottom of the box and I have to scrape it off. Is there an easy way to prevent this? Should I use more litter? Maybe I should use a litter box liner? Thanks in advance.

i got so sick of the litter box i cut a hole in the wall in the kitchen and installed a doggie door, started placing the cat box closer every day till i could take the flap off the door making it a window for a couple days and set the cat box outside the door then a foot farther away from the door every other day then hung the flap and kitty was outside trained that was 8 yrs ago and still works !! ps dogs like it too , of course they require a fence too !
Its a real pain. Most tricks I’ve learned only helps a little. Except for Kitty Litter Liners. They are plastic and you place them in the bottom of the litter box and put the litter on top. It works great! And its easy to clean, just pull up the plastic like a trash bag and toss it. This is the easiest for me. Hope it helps!
spray the bottom of the box with pam. that will do it.
just put the liner in. It is the only thing that works.
More can help. They recommend about 3 inches of liter. I usually use a little less cause I don’t like cleaning liter off the floor. Also you could use a box liner and or clumping cat liter seems to work pretty well. Just don’t flush the clumps down the toilet. Believe me it’s not a good idea. Do it once and you will see why.
I use liners nad have no problems cleaning/changing the litter. I’ve never tried the "clumping" litter, but my mom says it works very well =)
Try not using clumping litter and use a liner. Lines make it easier to dispode and you really like don’t need to clean your litter box.
If you don’t put in enough litter and use one of those plastic liners, your cat will tear a hole in the liner when it scratches. Use more litter. It says on my pail of cat litter to use 3 to 4 inches of litter. Some cats like to dig a deep hole so that they can feel like it is really covered up. More litter might do it without having to buy liners.

Im sort of lazy when it comes to stuff like that. So, what i do is, i get a trash bag, place the cat box inside the bag, then place news paper above the bag, and then place the cat liter. That way when the cat litter is full and smelly, all i have to do is grab the bag and throw it out. Then repeate the process. It seems like it take up a lot of time but its pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
it helps concerve your liter too. that way you dont have to keep buying some every week.

When I use other litters it always sticks. I keep inexpensive paper napkins in the area where I scoop out the boxes and clean the "cement" off with one of those before putting it in a lunch sack for disposal in the trash.
I use a sprinkle of baking soda on the bottom of the pan before I pour the fresh litter in. Also, you might want to stay away from cheaper store brand cat litter because, from my experience, it seems to be less absorbent. I like the clumping cat litter, it seems to have less stick at the bottom of the pan. Yeah, I know, yuck, gross, ewww, but you know everyone with cats has to deal with it!
I find using more litter usually does the trick…
A liner will work good, you can just use a plactic bag for one. But I have heard of putting a good layer of baking soda in the bottom also.

Use more litter – if there’s litter below the pee, then it will be easier to scoop up. You can also spray the box with a cooking spray like pam – the litter won’t stick to the box with that. Liners might be a good idea – I use them, but my cat always shreds them up, but it does make cleaning much easier (even if the bag is shredded, it does hold some before I dump it in another bag!)
I use Swheat Scoop and I usually go for a month without changing the litter! It smells that great.
