I trained my cats using a mixture of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. If you witness them doing things like that during the day, I’d start disciplining them then. Cats love to play and run through the house when you only have three hours before you have to get up for work, or you’ve just gotten the baby down again! LOL! That’s a cat for ya! I have to agree w/ other answers though- you may want to give your cats their own space for the night.
keep it in a room with the door closed
Put your cat in a kennel at night.
Lock him in one room with food, water, litter box and a bed.
Its virtually impossible. Nighttime is their time to be bad and get into things. And if you tried to lock them in a room I’m sure you’d hear lots of meowing and clawing at the door.
Give them some approved toys. My cats like those little leather mice. But if you don’t want to spend money on them, I often find my cats playing with other household objects, one of their favorites being tampons.
I hope this helps!
Most cats seem to dislike tinfoil and won’t step foot on it. Unless you want to line all the areas you don’t want your cat around with tin foil every night, I think you pretty much have to grin and bear it or do what I do. Both my cats, like clockwork, go in my room at 10pm and are let out at 6am. (This is also where their water, food, and litter box is) It’s set a schedule for them, and they know this is quiet time and they sleep in our bed with us and are quiet for most of the night! Good luck!
empty aluminum cans – they fall over, make a noise and scare the cats (and probably you)
double sided tape – cats hate it when it sticks to their paws!
