We have three cats. Our oldest cat is 6, the next youngest is 5 and the youngest is 2. (All are neutered upt on shots, strictly indoor cats)

Our youngest cat was given to us by a coworker who asked us to watch him for her while she moved. Two weeks later she told us she didn’t want him. He was getting along with the other 2 cats so we decided to keep him. He was about 3 months old.

Six months ago my husband was transferred from the Midwest to California. We brought all of the cats with us when we moved. Since the move, the youngest cat has become extremely posessive of our bed. All three cats used to come and go throughout the night, but now the youngest won’t let them on the bed. He growls and hisses and outright attacks them if they get on the bed. We decided that to solve this we wouldn’t allow him in the bedroom at night. Now he’s beginning to become posessive of other areas of the house — window sills, the cat towers, even his food.

I’m beginning to wonder if he needs to be an only cat. I love him dearly but I don’t want him attacking/acting hostile towards the other cats either. Can anyone help us overcome this behavior?
