Going on a car trip soon, should my 2 cats be in smaller separate carriers or both in a larger single carrier?
The trip will be about 2 hours to my dad and step-mom’s house. They don’t have any animals in the house but there is a feral cat colony in their barn and nearby woods.

It just all depends on how they interact with each other. We have 3 cats and I know the 2 girl cats don’t get along all the time so we put one alone in a carrier then put the boy cat and the other girl cat together. You know your cats best and if they are good together then put them together if they do their own thing then put them separate.
depends on how they normally travel.
can they survive being together?
i think they would be more comfortable in single carrier cages then with eachother in one cage.. i mean if they arent going to be in the cage once at your step moms then the large one would be fine, they will be okay being together in a cage for a two hour ride… but if you’re planning on leaving them in the cages at her house then i would say single cages or they will be cramped up especially when they both want to go to sleep. it wont be comfortable for them
larger similar carriers. that way your cats can be safe and they can eat and drink and do their buisness while being safe.
2 cats
It is according to how your cats get along with each other. I have 3 cats and 2 of them get along great and 1 not so much. If you are worried about them I would just be on the safe side and use 2 different carriers just in case.
Good Luck. Hope you have a Great Trip!
i rather put 2 cats in a large carrier, do not feed them before the trip, they will be dizzy.
If the 2 cats are to be disposed at the barn or woods, you may not see them again…
if you want them back, they should be kept indoors n be cat proof.
