Does anyone know any Indoor Cat Breeds?
Well.. I lost my beautiful brown tabby a few weeks ago (because he was an outdoor cat) and we decided that it was time to get a new kitty.. I am making sure i would like to get a indoor cat..
So can anyone plz tell me some breeds of cats that usually stay indoor? I only know 1 of 2 so far.. Ragdoll and Somali.. Anyway thankz!
I also don’t want Persian cats.. I’m sorry, I just can’t keep up with shedding fur..I used to groom my brown tabby everyday and he still shedded! He was a shorthair! Lolz I would groom him for 30 minz ~ 1 hour..

Any cat can be an indoor cat. I have mutt cats and they are all indoor cats. Just go to the shelter and pick a nice kitty and bring it home. Shelter cats make great pets and all their vetting is included in the adoption fee which runs about $50-100. Keeping your cat indoors at all times is the only way to keep them safe. As you have learned, it’s not safe for them to be outside. Make sure to buy a cat tree so your kitty has somewhere to jump and climb.
Any cat can be an inside cat!!! Most vets recommend keeping your cats indoors. It is safer for them. They don’t contract diseases or have to fight off bigger animals. They stay cleaner and don’t get fleas and ticks. As an owner of an indoor cat you save money on vet bills by not having to have as many vaccinations and less likely to be injured. All cats can be litter box trained. I think any mix breed cat will do great. Try your local shelter and adopt a homeless kitten.
I would prefer the Persian as an indoor cat because if is very beautiful although is does often require grooming. I don’t recommend this cat if you have children though because they don’t like to be teased or to be petted roughly but overall it is a good indoor cat with a LOT of responsibility
Any cat can be kept indoors. You just have to make sure you give them things to occupy them – like a cat tree, lots of toys, and lots of human interaction. You might also make an outdoor run for your cat – an aviary is a good choice (and cheaper than specially made cat runs) and you can put things in there for climbing on and sleeping in. This at least will give him some time outside without running off.
There are breeds of cat that are more active indoors, and therefore may be a bit too much for you to handle, such as some of the oriental breeds like Siamese, but any regular cat will be good if you give it all you need.
I currently have a ragdoll who loves his time out in the back yard (I have modified fences that cats can’t jump over) but that’s only when I’m around – the rest of the time he’s inside. He’s very loyal to me, and even when there are birds outside that he’d love to chase, he still prefers to be with me. I think that’s the advantage in having an indoor cat -they bond more closely with you. I can’t understand the point of having a pet and not seeing it half the time because it’s running around the neighbourhood!
Good luck with your kitten.
just get a normal domestic shorthair from the shelter. any cat can be an indoor cat
ALL cat breeds should stay indoors. Why do you think only the Ragdoll and Somali should? Cats allowed to free roam run the risk of getting hit by a car, eaten by a wild animal, dismembered by a loose dog, catching a disease from another cat, etc, etc.
