Does anyone here use Advantage or Frontline for cats and dogs?
First, which brand works better for fleas?
Second, can the same formula be used on cats & dogs? All my animals are under 20lbs.

I think Frontline works better. It has a money back guarantee that your pet will be flea-free for one month if used according to the package directions.
No, cats cannot use small-dog frontline- it is too strong. They make a version of frontline just for cats. If you have more than one dog under 20 lbs, the dogs could share a box though.
PS: Don’t buy the stuff online- it is often an illegal knockoff, expired, or the Australian version. Plus, if you get it anywhere other than your vet, the money-back guarantee is void. The company that makes Frontline ONLY sells it to veterinarians, because it is a prescription medication; anyone other than a licensed veterinarian who tries to sell it to you got it illegally. Get Frontline Plus from your vet.
Yes, I do – Frontline is excellent for cat fleas. Or not, depending on whether you want them alive or dead! We find our cat protected from them for about six weeks.
I use Frontline Plus and I have yet to have any problems.
You can’t use the same formula, it has to be specifically for cats or for dogs. Using a dog formula on a cat will make it sick.
My dog uses Frontline Plus, which was recomended by her vet.
Your cats would use the Frontline Plus for Cats and Kittens. To pick the right Frontline Plus product for your cats and dogs, you have to go by the wieght of your pets. You would get the Dogs up to 22 lbs. one.
I like frontline. you can not interchange them between cats/dogs.
i use frontline on my dog and have used it since i got him 4 yrs ago.he has never caught fleas
Yes I used it on my cats and the fleas went away. I was very happy with it although one of my cats had an alergic reaction to it and lost a good bit of hair!
yes, I have used Frontline for over 5 yeaers and on 3 dogs and 1 cat. I love it. Well worth the money. I dont know for sure, but Im willing to bet the cat formula is different b/c they lick their entire body daily…dogs cant. Call your vet and ask.
i use advantage i think that it works great i havent had a flea problem since ive been using it on my dogs but there are seperate formulas for cats and dogs so they are not interchangeable
yes, frontline is well recomended . it wprks good on fleas and eggs
I use and recommended front-line plus to my customers it works great, kills fleas in 24 hours if dog or cat already has fleas,
I used to use Frontline, but have happily switched to REVOLUTION. It is broader spectrum, taking care of fleas, mites, mosquitoes, heartworm, and other parasites. It is the liquid for the skin between shoulder blades.
My breed is super sensitive to many chemicals, but do fine with REVOLUTION.
I used Advantage on my dog and it worked great. I think one brand has one for dogs and another one for cats. They both are good.
I use Frontline Plus and it works great. I have an indoor dog and I have never even seen a flea on him before.
Absolutely superb – if you use it for dogs, make sure the supply is right for the weight as it won’t work as well if you have a 30kg dog and frontline for up to 20kgs. Basic I know but its important.
One dose last for fleas for about 2 months (dead within 24 hours) and ticks for about 1 month (dead with 48 hours).
I have been using this for years (but only on dogs) and we have NEVER had an infestation. We live in the country and have three dogs, so our chances are high.
In my personal experience nothing else on the market works as well, and over the years I have tried a lot!!!
