Do OUTDOOR male cats know if my INDOOR female cat is in heat?

I have an indoor ONLY cat who I hope is pregnant because I bred her. She isn’t showing the normal signs of a cat in heat, but I haven’t had her for long, so I don’t know what is normal for her. Anyway, I keep seeing these 2 different cats in my yard that I have never noticed before. It is cold outside so they could be strays looking for food/trash. I’m just curious. This is my first time to have a indoor cat that is not spayed.

You bet! When I was a kid, I very vividly remember that nasty sound they make when they smell a female in heat. We would have toms all outside making that noise to try to get her.
Yes, they can smell it. Naturally, when a cat goes into heat, she omits a strong odor that other felines could smell for miles around, to lure them. Soon the strays should leave though.
yes the female gives off an odor in her pee that the male cats smell and they can detect when she is in heat.
Okay, first of all you need to go to the Vet to find out if she is pregnant or not. That way you will know for sure, and that way if she is pregnant the Vet can give you more advice on makeing sure she has healthy kittens.
And yea, outdoor cats can smell a cat in heat even from pretty far away.Do you let her out on your porch, or have a litterbox then can smell, or windows open?Just keep her in the house and take her to the Vet.
Yes, they will smell it and attempt to get in. They will spray all over outside your house. Pretty gross.
Yes they can tell. Its a smell your cat lets off. We cannot smell it, but other cats can. I would guess both of those cats outside are males. Be careful not to let her go outside at all, those males would just love to get at her and you do realize baby cats from one litter can have different fathers.

yes they smell and know she;s in heat like them,,when my cat was in heat;all the cats would come and meow all nite;and she was meowing right back,,,after your cats has babies or whatever;get her spayed;as every time they have heat it;;s worse than the last one,,,,all the crying will keep you up so better get some earplugs,,,,,LOL#
cats have a certain oder that it lets off in heat. i would the cats outside are males and want to make some more kittens. so don’t let your cat outside and also go to the local vet and see what to do about those cats if they bother you. mabey get something to ward them off like a cat spray/repelent of some sort from petco.
YES! The scent can go through doors and windows and can easily attract possible mates so that they will be waiting around your front door. A person that I gave a stray cat to a few months ago had up to 6 different cats int he yard at any one given moment before she got her cat fixed. Be careful opening doors for a while - because your female may make a break for the door or worse yet, a male MIGHT get that bold and break for your door to get in!

Absolutely. They can pick up the scent of a cat in heat for a mile around. Keeping the queen inside only prevents the toms from actually mating with her. But they know she’s in there. Its amazing really.
hi, i had the same problem with my female cat.the cats on your doorstep are most likely to be toms and yes they can tell that your kitty is on heat!! i had to put up with ‘tom’ calling my cat all night and he was there in the morning so i called my vet and she said your cat is on heat and he wants to do business!!Dont worry they wont hurt her either, if you see one of them biting her neck its just how they mate, not all cats show they are on heat either! i dont have much experience but i hope this helps and if your still concerned call your local vet! : )
