I have a cat tower next to one of my bookcases, where I have a lamp. I replaced the bulb just a couple of months ago, I think. Anyway, my 8-month old cat is very active and he likes chasing his tail on the cat tower. I think he knocked into the bookcase or the lamp, but suddenly the bulb burned out. The bulb is opaque but for the very bottom, and it looked like it was broken (the filament it’s called, right?) like it was disconnected or something. I tested the bulb in another lamp and sure enough it’s burned out.

It would be very coincidental if it burned out on its own the exact same moment my cat bumped into the bookcase/lamp, but I have never seen/heard of movement/shaking causing a bulb to burn out. I guess I’m wondering if it’s possible? Is there a way to prevent it (like getting a better bulb? I think the one I got was a cheaper one). Thanks!
