pick location , find studs , with hammer knock hole in Sheetrock, check hole for wires or pipes if no pipes but sill have wires enlarge hole secure wires to stud out of way use drill to set location on out side then take template out side to cut exterior hole ( jig saw or sawsall) finish inside hole with utility knife or dry wall saw or jig saw or stake knife
Go into your basement under where you expect to be cutting and look into the rafters. If there are electrical wires or pipes in the section you want to cut, they should show themselves because they’ll be coming through the floor at the joists. (This works best in an unfinished basement).
For safety sake, cut through 1 side of the wall at a time (inside first), then pull out any insulation and feel around to make sure the coast is clear.
