clumping or clay cat litter for my kittens?

which is more better and safer for my 5 weeks old kittens to use cat litter..i just bought the ultra clumping cat litter…so im confuse is it clay good for them or the clumping ones?

Neither! Clumping litters are dangerous because kittens that young tend to eat it when they play in it and pick it out from between their toes. It then forms clumps inside their stomach and intestines and can cause a fatal blockage. Clay is also difficult to pass, even if it is non-clumping.
Crystals and/or Swheat Scoop (made from wheat) or litter that is made from recycled paper is best for young kittens. When they are about 4 months old, they will be big enough to safely use clay or clumping litters.
i don’t use either, i use the crystals…less dust and stink
I have had cats all my life and have never heard of one being worse than another, or even one being unsafe. Some people think the silica-based ones (the white and blue crystals that look kind of like glass) are bad for cats.
I guess it is possible that a dusty litter could irritate their little eyes or something, but I have never seen that happen.
I never liked clumping litter because a cat with a big bladder would leave a giant lump that fills the box and makes it harder to use the next time.
Well, practically.
NONE.
Sand is BEST, trust me, the Crystals make a stinky odor.
YUK.
And the Sand is not bad for kittens.

I’d probably just use the Arm and Hammer kitty litter.
Do not use clay clumping though because they will try to eat it. Death by kitty litter is not as funny as it seems.
Plus you’ll probably just have to take them to the vet for a blocked urinary tract.
For kittens, I would reccomend Feline Pine "clumping" litter along with Arm & Hammer Litter Box Deoderizer. Feline Pine clumping is soft and all natural so it won’t harm your kittens. They will outgrow it eventually but it’s perfect for babies.
