That’s a classic example of a cat exercising his prerogative right there hehe! My cats love birds but hate toys with feathers on. They love my shoe laces but hate string. They love scratching my leather sofa but hate their scratching post. The list goes on!
the crinkle tunnel is too loud some cats dont like noise that loud.
just buy one that dont crinkle, they have just cloth ones with a toy hanging in the middle.thats the one my cats play in.
To put it simply…Because he’s a cat! Cats are lovely, yet odd, little creatures. Maybe put it away for awhile and bring it out again in a few weeks, so that it’s "new" again? My cats didn’t like their scratching post when I first bought it for them. I tried catnip, treats, even pretending to scratch on it to show them how to do it. Eventually I gave up and put it away. For whatever reason, I brought it out again and one day they just started using it. Now, they love it and it’s usually the center of their playtime
Funny my kitten likes to sleep on plastic bags and play with them but when she gets trapped, it’s a whole other story. They seem to like simple things around the house, just don’t spend too much money on lavish toys.
Mine are the same. I have a crinkle tunnel and a crinkle bag. Neither of them bother with the tunnel or bag, but if I put a plastic bag down there on or in it in seconds. Not sure why? I think it may be because they crinkle is there all the time to play with and the bags are not. I don’t leave plastic bags around because my cat has actually gotten caught in them before, so when they do see a bag maybe it’s like "Oh something new!". Cats are very curious. Whenever there’s something new they have to check it out. Whether it be a toy or some plain cardboard box.
Give it time. Your kitty may get used to it. Sounds like he’s a little afraid of it.
