Catlovers, does your cat love cat toys?

My cat doesnt really care for cat toys. He prefers people feet, our mail, sometimes laser pointers and he REALLY loves boxes.
With the exception of lasers, my cat does not like cat toys. He does however love bread ties, cardboard boxes, and bubble wrap. But, if I spend money on a toy, he almost never touches it.
My cat’s favourite toy is his string monster.
It is a 5 ft long piece of heavy cord, about 1/8 inch in diameter. At one end there are several pieces of heavy string, each with a small plastic candy bar wrapper attached. At the other end, is an el-cheapo fabric mousey.
I made it when he was a kitten over 8 years ago, and we still play with it. As much for fun dad as for Sweedie!
I also have a laser pointer (do not shine in the cat’s eyes!) that he likes, and a couple more el-cheapo fabric mice …
My cats won’t even get up to chase a laser pointer. They are very active cats and when they are actually in the house they prefer the company of the dog over toys or they sleep. We do have a tin foil ball for them in the basement but they rarely bother with it.
They mostly like LAYSERS i kno my cat did. CARDBOARD BOXES to scrach on as a scraching post and if you have that then they wont mess up you couch. LONG STICKSwith colorful string at the end. they chase it.BELLS. they like the sound.
My cat sticks up her nose at lasers (which is unfortunate, judging by my sister’s cat they would make really good exercise for her) and most toys. She does like jingle bells, highlighters, and pens.
can relate a recent story to you, I bought a rather largish cat toy for my spoilt or should I say very spoilt 6yr old, he is gorgeous, and he knows it, loved, and he knows it, but he is also the boss of the house , and believe me, he knows that too. I gave him the toy, so what did he do, played with the box it came in for about an hour.
