My cat has been removing items from the garbage can and burying them in his litter box. I’ve had him for over a year and he just started doing this last week. I’m curious if anyone else’s cat does this and if anyone knows what could cause this behavior. He is still using the litter box to relieve himself, it’s just that he’s also burying random things like candy wrappers and old kleenex in there too.

I have tried different types of litter and given her 2 litter boxes, one even has a cover. The litter box is in a back room and she has privacy.
This has been going on for about a year now. There are 2 litter boxes side by side.

My roommate’s dog will pee anywhere in the house if she absolutely must. Can she be trained to go in a litter box? She’s a chihuahua.

I know she’s too young to be separated from her mother and that the recommended time is 8-12 weeks. But we had to keep her and now I really need to train her how to use a litter box. She sleeps a lot so usually when she’s done sleeping she meows when she needs to either poop or eat. I have the litter box and it’s not too high for her nor hidden. How do i get her to use it on her own without me taking her there?

We’ve had him since he was born and he would not use the litter box like his brothers and sisters, but would instead urinate on blankets, mattresses, etc. When he was a few months old, he managed to get outside, where he would do his business, but he stays away for long periods of time. I am becoming more aware of the dangers of letting a cat outside, and I’d like to begin to keep him indoors.

Some days, I cannot get home lunch time to take him out.
Although he is house-trained, I keep his training pads when I know I will be gone all day and he usually uses them (~90 %).
It will be very good to train him to use a litter box as this can come very handy in a stormy weather with -40 C.
Any expereinces with that or any suggestions.

I just found out that there’s such a thing: dog litter box. My 1 1/2 year old Shih Tzu is already trained to eliminate on a pad. Is it too late to switch him to a litter box? Does someone have similar experience?

My cat has never had a litter box. He always used the cat door to go outside but now we are selling our house and moving into an apartment. I’ve locked the cat door and tried to get him to use the box, but he will have nothing to do with it. He’s not even curious about it. I think if he went in it once, he’d figure it out…but he won’t! Help!! Moving in 2 weeks!
