It depends how many cats you have and how big is your litter box. I have two cats and a 6.35-kg sack of Swheat Scoop would last for about 3 weeks or so. I don't necessarily follow the instruction to put at least 3 inches because I wash the litter box weekly. But I put enough of it so the bottom of the litter pan won't show.

Well it depends if they are indoor cats or out door cats as indoor cats will only poop in the litter and out door cats will do some in someone elses garden. It also depends on how many cats you have.
I have 2 indoor cats and 1kg of litter lasts about a week. If you have one cat then I'd assume 8kg would last you 16 weeks on average maybe a little less if you get a couple rank deposits.

The great big bags can be a bit hard to handle. Especially lifting and pouring. I always end up spilling so i just buy a tone of the 1kg bags when they are on special and stock up.

We have a sifting litter box and we buy a 20lb container of Tidy Cat small spaces litter and we will pour the entire container into the litter box. Then everynight we will sift the box and add the baking soda cat smelly stuff, lol not sure of the name. And if needed we will sift the cat litter during the day if extra messy. This will usually last us for a month, maybe more. It doesn't smell at all and vet said it wasn't unhealthy to use it that long. So we spend $9 on cat litter a month. Not bad at all. Oh and we have three cats.

It depends on how often you change your litter box and,how often you want to go to the pet store, and how many cats you have. I suggest buying enough for a week or two.

If you have one cat and one litter box then you only need to change the litter every few days. Just make sure you scoop it in between so your cat has a clean place to do it's business.
