Just make sure that you get the clumping kind- otherwise you pretty much have to empty the entire litter box every time you clean it. Check around, a local feed store or heating supply store should be able to let you know where to get some, or carry them. You can by a 20 lb. bag for $4 or less. It is scoopable and clumping. If you scoop it every day at least once per day it does not get very smelly. I add more to the box and the odor is gone. It does not have dust, so you won't choke to death during cleaning, relatively cheap, cleans perfect, clumps well. You can buy it in WalMart but only in the States. For some reason they stopped selling it in Canada, so now I have to go over the border to buy it. I have had a my cat for 6 years and the best kitty litter out there, hands down is Scoop Away. If you have a Piggly Wiggly in the neighborhood it is VERY cheap. Or try to find some kind of compressed pine litter...the pee turns to saw dust and NEVER smells. I am a fan of Feline Pine.
