Is the living room is considered a "community room" all entitled to use this room? If the majority do not want the litter box in the living room then it should go in her room.
If roommate isn’t doing so already, advise keeping the litter box "spotless". Meaning, do not let any waste remain in the box any longer than necessary. Clumping litter can help keep the urine smell way down. Cat pees, pee clumps in litter, scoop out clump, bye-bye urine smell. I use Fresh Step Litter…you wouldn’t know we have a cat if it weren’t for the cat bed and scratching post. We live in a TINY apartment.
In reality, it’s "her" cat, right.
Absolutely unfair to the rest of you who apparently dont have cats! If she is the only one with a cat .. the box should be in HER space. If others had cats also then a cat box in a common area would be acceptable.
Im guessing there’s a reason she didnt want the box in her room anymore whether it was odor or the way kitties so kindly kick litter out onto the floor when they cover their "business" .. lol .. but whatever the reason i dont think it would be good enough to satisfy me.
"Your cat .. your catbox .. your room sweetie " thats what id try to find a nice way to say. Or better … the next time she’s not home .. just move it back into her room. And when she asks why …tell her !
yes and it is unfair to any visitors nose
The cat box should be in her room that is the polite thing to do. It is her cat and if she keeps it scopped out it won’t smell. I have a cat that has her litter box in the guest room, when guests come I move it into my room. That’s just the polite thing to do. You can also take a vote with the other room mates.
