Can you put scoopable cat litter in a hedgehog habitate?

Instead of using shavings in such, is it possible to use scoopablr cat litter? They like to dig to begin with, and i though it would be easier to keep his tank clean that way. I would also put a small face cloth under his hideaway to keep him comfortable while he sleeps.
Will the cat litter hurt him any/

I would not recommend it. Scoopable cat litter clumps when wet, and if the ‘hog ingests even a tiny bit of it, the litter would clump in its digestive tract and could cause a blockage.
Try something like corncob litter or recycled paper litter. I personally like aspen shavings for just about any small animal or reptile. Nice light scent, and much safer than cedar or pine shavings, which emit volatile oils that are irritating to the respiratory system.
I’ve had several hedgies. My breeder says not to use litter that contains clay or any that produces lots of dust when they dig. They are prone to respiratory problems. I have had bad experience with the ‘crystal’ cat litter– If you have a male, it’ll get stuck in his wee-wee. I tried the Feline Pine and they would use the litter box, but not always.
I also put a face cloth under his ‘bedroom’. You can get big soft throws from walmart or wherever and cut them to fit the cage.
The cat my find it fascinating for awhile, but wont hurt it.
Is this your first? Make sure you have a wheel for him and throw some cheap pool toys–shovels, stuff like that for him to drag around. Mine would never play or use the wheel unless he thought we werent watching him!
