Any ideas on how to stop a bunny from chewing the carpet of a cat tree?

He really likes to play on it with the cats but he chews at it all the time. I don’t want him to get sick, although I noticed he usually just shreds the carpet and leaves it there, doesn’t eat it. (but sometimes does). That bitter spray works but I don’t want to repel my pets from the cat tree! Any ideas on how to stop just the bunny from chewing on it?
lol are you serious? no way he can’t purr. lol But my cat grinds his teeth really loud when hes happy.

Rabbits can purr, mine does while being petted.
You should not be using bitter spray to repel your rabbit from this tree. Rabbits have very sensitive digestive systems and resp. systems and some chemicals that are made for other animals can greatly affect your rabbit’s health.
If you want to deter him from this type of behavior, you can move the cat tree to another area of the house. Also, you can take a spray bottle (cleaned) and put a little water in it. If your rabbit is near the cat tree, you can spray him once (DO NOT SOAK HIS COAT!) and tell him no, then remove him from the area. Do not yell at him while you are doing this, but speak to him in a stern voice.
Last but not least, a Buck can be very territorial. If he is digging at the carpet, it’s because he smells a strange scent in his territory. Plus, rabbits love to dig. You can deter this behavior by placing a few old towels in the area where he likes to dig, along with other areas of the house to keep him from digging.
Or you could purchase a type of plastic pan/kiddie pool and put organic dirt/sand in it for your rabbit to dig. Be sure to supervise your rabbit at all times during this activity so that your Buck does not consume any of the materials in his digging box.

Get a water spray bottle and Spray the bunny ANYtime it does wrong while you say NO!
Eventually, just saying NO! will be enough..
The eventually, he will stop..
Equate chewing with a bunny to scratching with a cat and you will think of more solutions.

Well you could put a fence around the cat tree
i think whenever u catch your bunny doing so u must scold him or do something to show that it is a bad thing. in time your bunny should learn.
Get Bitter Lime® or Bitter Apple® deterrent sprays at the pet store, and spray it where the rabbit chews on the cat post.
It tastes nasty and he will soon learn to leave it alone.
