My grandmother and grandfather used to have a dog, Rocky, and he loved people food. I’m sure other dogs do, as well, especially meat. I know it has a lot of protein, so is it good for them, too? Because I know that it’s a good idea to mix foods up a little for dogs, like some dog kibble, meat, and other stuff. Also, when the dog died, they got a cat. The cat LOVES people food and hates its own food. I guess I’m just wondering if this is a better option than continuously buying specific pet foods. Any help would be wonderful!!
I’ve never had birds before but I have read that Zebra Finches are fairly easy for a first timer. I don’t particularly want a bird I can interact with. I know they are shy and stress easily. I have no desire to hold them or take them out of the cage. Since this is the case, I assume they need exercise in their cages. I would get several of them, maybe 5 so they would have plenty of company. I am planning on getting only male since I don’t want babies. I have had problems with getting only female animals before (rodents) as some came pregnant. What a surprise! What would be a good size or cage for about 5 finches? I have a whole wall I can dedicate as needed to the finches.
I was a bird bander for the parks department for awhile, but I have never owned. It seems interesting to have a softly chirping cage of companions that I can watch and care for.
I do have a cat, two dogs, and a turtle. While the finches are caged and not directly interacting with the other animals, is there anything to watch for? Particularly with the cat. I assume no tables or climbing items next to the cage, but other than that?
I read about food and egg shells. Is there any other general care? I also saw their nails can get long. There is a bird only vet about a mile from my house, so problem solved. However is there a toy or anything they can perch on that helps with that? ie similar to the toys for cats or walking for a dog.
They will be three rooms from the kitchen. The wall has no windows so no direct light or draft. The room is fairly bright though, so not as though they will live in a cave. Basically any good stories or advise to get me started in the bird world.
i go this test thats why
I am moving in with my grandma for a couple months. She has an extremely large home and I will pretty much be taking over the second floor. Her second floor doesn’t have any doors or anything stopping someone from entering or for stopping a cat from getting out. How can I make my cat stay on the second floor without having to build some kind of gate?
And even if I do build a gate, how do I stop him from climbing over it?
What type of litter should you use in a litter box for a puppy. I’ve read that cat litter and clumping litter is harmful. Also that cedar chips is harmful as well. Help please!
There is 2 cats, both calico, one male and one female. the female is always dominating and indoors, the male is usually outside, comes in to eat/sleep then leaves. they’re both over 10 yrs. old, but the female uses the litter box. The male doesn’t. The male poops and pee’s anywhere in the garage, especially if we arent awake to let it out.. How do we train the male calico to start using the litter box?
My cat is or has been house trained to pee and #2 in his litter. throughout the 10 years i have had him, hes used while every now and then peeing on towels and beds etc. Well over the past Month, he pees every where but the cat box. how do i retrain him? thanks for your answers and suggestions.
His enviornment has changed some…my grandma lives here now and she brought 5 cats with her. the 5 cats stay in her room. but that was months ago and he was peein fine. I dont know how a vet would help but if it would, then ill do it. any other suggestions?
My 2 cats are about 8 years old, neutered, and are brothers. I don’t know if the stray is a boy or girl. The first time it came around the 3 of them fought thru the door. Now, even it it comes near the steps my cats will start fighting each other! Its really bad fighting. They rip hair out! They start hissing and staring each other down. It lasts for about 10 minutes. Why are they turning on each other?
