My cat is 5 months, when he was only a month we had him around a dog and now that the dog is gone he is acting strange. He is running around the house, scratching my couch and I gave him one of those scratching boxes w/cat nip in it. I didn’t want to buy an expensive scratching post because he doesn’t even use the box. He bites people and bounces off the walls everyday…what can i do

I have an 8-month old cat whose rear end is MUCH higher than his front. I am wondering what breeds of cats have bodies like this, and if he could have some of that ancestry-line in his blood - or if he is just deformed.
I thought manx only have short or no tails? This cat has a very long tail, and his body is also very long. The paws are rather large. The fur is silky soft and the fur gets longer towards the end of his body, and his body is very heavy. His temperament: fiesty, aggressive, sometimes mean.

I have always been a cat lover. Recently, I have been doing some investigational work into what you might call "cat psychology". Am wondering what meaning or significance there is or means when a very affectionate cat decides to crawl up on you and proceeds to groom themselves? Is it a sign of extreme love or contentment? Is a primevil sign of conquest, or is it just a very loving cat deciding that it is time to take a bath..LOL Please help as this behavior is making me "cat crazy" Thanks, Fred

My cat has all current shots required in US and is fixed. I was told pets have to be quarantined for 6 months if flown to England. That would be a waste since I’m only going for 1 year. Is there someone with authority that I should contact who can help me find out?

How do I get my older cat to learn new tricks, so to speak? He’s 7 years old, and was never taught to use a scratching post, so he just scratches up anything he can find.
We bought a carpet lined scratching post, but he hasn’t done much but look at it funny. We’ve tried putting toys on top and around it, putting catnip on it, giving him treats when he almost thinks about using it, things like that. We haven’t tried the spray catnip yet, but plan on doing that soon.
Another note, he’s vicious and his claws hurt, lol. So it’s tough to really put his claws on the scratching post or anything like that.

Since I have put up my tree, my cat thinks that it is a huge playplace for her! I am worried that she might get hurt, telling her NONO, doesn’t work, any ideas?

I love all animals however I feel that dogs get more respect then cats. If you see a specific kind of dog walking down the road you will most likely know what kind of breed it is but when it comes to a cat - well it’s just a cat. There are tons of different cats breeds and none but the siamese is well known. Poor kitty’s.

I’m thinking of buying an ‘activity centre’ (those playground-style climbing frame for cats, often with tunnels and balls on strings) for my parents’ two young cats, mainly for when they are put in a cattery. Anyone had any experience of these things? Do cats always get bored of them? Any kinds more fun than others?
